You get a double political feature today, because these two don't belong in the same box...

I'd like to give a little shout-out to my man Bill Clinton, who has some real cojones and took Fox News' Chris Wallace to task. Oh my God, do I frigging love Clinton. Now there's a powerful politician who, unlike every pundit on T.V., actually responds authoritatively and intelligently when he's being spun. No matter how many times Wallace attempts to leave erroneous comments hanging and pivot in another direction, Clinton steers him back. And then he went OFF. I highly recommend reading the entire transcript. Oh my, watching that made Monica seem like a perfectly sane woman. Quoth Clinton as Wallace tried to smear and run,

"No wait…no wait…Don’t tell me. You asked me why I didn’t do more to Bin Laden. There was not a living soul…all the people who criticized me wanted to leave the next day. You brought this up so you get an answer..." (woohoo! Yeah, you little schmuck.) ..."So you did FOX’s bidding on this show. You did you nice little conservative hit job on me. But what I want to know...I want to know how many people in the Bush administration you asked this question of. I want to know how many people in the Bush administration you asked 'why didn’t you do anything about the Cole'. I want to know how many you asked 'why did you fire Dick Clarke'. I want to know…And you've got that little smirk on your face and you think you're so clever, but I had responsibility for trying to protect this country. I tried and I failed to get bin Laden. I regret it, but I did try and I did everything I thought I responsibly could."

If only Kerry could have had enough confidence and wherewithall to come back swinging like that during his debates rather than meekly droning on. THIS is leadership. Unlike swaggering with no substance to back it up (ahem, big jackass Dubya), this is a man you really don't want to F with in a debate.
