As someone who lived in the community where and when O.J. Simpson murdered his ex-wife, and knowing witnesses (like the neighbor across the street, a high school friend) whose testimony was not admitted into the trial on legal technicalities, I know I speak for those of us who know without a doubt that he was and is guilty when I say that I am disgusted with the decision on the part of Regan Books to pay and publish his sick blow-by-blow account of the murder "if he had done it". Oh wait, no, first she is going to let him describe it when she interviews him on Fox News. I previously admired Ms. Regan, and can safely say that I no longer respect her (with apologies to my highly respected friend(s) who work for or will be published by the parent company).

O.J. Simpson has thumbed his nose at the families of his victims ever since he was found guilty of their murders in the civil trial and ordered to pay them damages. He has never paid them a dime of the punitive damages. Instead, he has lived like a king and arrogantly flaunted that in their faces. That Judith Regan would give him a massive book deal (3.5 million bucks) that will likewise be funneled away, in order to make huge profits at the cost of these poor families who have already had to endure his freedom and his celebrity posturing, golfing and living the high life, is unconscionable. What the hell is the matter with her? Doesn't she see anything wrong with publishing an account of grisly murders by the murderer who got away scott free and now has come back to give the world and his victims the finger? A "hypothetical" confession? "If I did butcher the fuck out of your loved ones, which you can't prove- nah nah!-this is exactly how I might have done it..."? Interesting ethical choice, Judith Regan, is all I have to say. People will do any fucking thing for a buck, even give an egomaniacal murderer a stage from which to spit on the graves of his victims. Ugh.
